Saddam Hussein Execution

I was surprised and partially shocked to know that Saddam Hussein was executed just now in the morning. I think the decision was quite fast. Nobody would have guessed that Saddam will be hang that fast. Personally, as a human being, I pity him because he has to be executed. However, he had done a very bad thing in his presidency for killing a lot of people.

A friend of mine in UK while I was studying there, have flee to England because according to him, Saddam instruct to kill his father. Read more from the following links:

How To Be A Better Couple

10 steps to enjoying each other better...

1. Be realistic about each other.
Don't try to turn ur partner into something he or she is not. Let's face it, guys-there's only 1 Pamela Anderson in the world, and even she has had her implants removed! Give ur gal a break and understand that her physical appearance is NOT going to change overnite with the help of a few facials ! or treat ments. And ladies, Brad Pitt has already been taken, so u're gonna have to do with what ur guy is like! Chill out, love each other for what u are. There is more to ur partner than what meets the eye.

2. Always talk things out.
Now guys, I know this is not ur fave pastime or mode of resolving issues, but u know what? This works with the gals. Don't make assumptions about each other's feelings. Learn to xpress urself better so that ur partner undrstands what u're angry about, or hurt about, or even happy about! When u stop talking to each other from the heart, it's the beginning of the end.

3. Do stuff together.
Make an effort to do things together. Do some sports or involve urselves in some shared activities; something both of u enjoy or are interested in. It could be as simple as watching movies together, or jus strolling hand-in-hand down Orchard Road. Watch soccor with him once in a while though the green patch on TV puts u to sleep in 3 seconds. And guys, do give in if ur gal asks for another day at window-shopping, rather than suggest that she go out with her girlfriends for "that sort of activities" instead. If u're spending more time with ur friends rather than with ur partner, it's a warning sign that u're drifting apart!!!

4. Meet each other halfway.
If he agrees to throw out that rotten T-shirt with the "The_Rock" print, u shouldn't kick up much of a fuss if he asks u to keep ur room tidy. There's gotta be a little giving and taking in a relationship, so learn to meet each other halfway.

5.Show ur love
Buy her flowers or candy or perfume everynow and then, even if u have been together for 5years. It's wonderful to continue showing someone that u care for him or her. Cook him a special meal, paint him a Valentine's Day card. Knit him mini-socks he can't wear ( like for decoration purposes => ), buy him a packet of milk for breakfast, or pack his wardrobe for him...so he knows u can still be romantic and loving despite having been together for quite a while.

6. Respect each other.
Stop making jokes about her hair or skin, or whatever it is u love to laugh at. Ask urself if she thinks if its funny. And if he has an inferiority complex about his height, stop ogling at tall guys and make him feel worse! Love is about respecting each other's feelings and being sensitive to each other at all times.

7. Bury the past.
Stop bringing up the past. Gals..don't bring up the happy things about u and ur ex to ur guy, it would jus make him jealous or unhappy. And guys, don't talk about the happy times that u had with ur ex or mention about her in ur every other sentence as it would make ur gal feel un-happy and she might think that u saying all this b'cos u are gonna get back with ur ex or not interested in her anymore.< /P>

8. Sit on ur jealousy.
All of us go thru' spells of insecurity at the beginning of the relationship, but don't translate that insecurity into jealousy. If u're gonna go through ur partner's mail and cupboard, and eavesdropping on conversations, u know something is wrong - with u!!! Jealousy is like a poison that slowly spreads thru' the relationship before finally killing it. Trust ur partner; love has to have trust in it.

9. Keep ur commitments to each other.
If ur partner is standing u up all the time and cancelling dates and breaking promises, u need to talk! If u're in a relationship, make ur partner ur priority and don't disappoint them if u can help it. It's really terrible when someone promises to take u to dinner, and then calls to cancel it. Don't make promises u can't keep. If ur partner starts to feel that he/she is not important enough to u, u may jus lose him/her.

10. Be honest.
Honesty is not scowling at how awful she looks first thing in the morning, or telling him that he has the biceps of a fly~! When we say "be honest", we mean expressing ur feelings clearly, not being bitingly cruel. When u're hurt, say so, and when u're angry, tell him/her, w/o getting hysterical. If u can't be honest with ur partner, who can u be honest with? Love is also about honesty, and a relationship where no honesty exists probabl! y isn't worth it!

DEVELOPING POSITIVE ATTITUDES

MARKETING YOURSELF successfully depends a great deal upon your attitude toward others. In turn, your attitude toward others depends a great deal on your attitude toward yourself.

Your real product is YOU. That's the attitude you must develop and always hold. It's positive
and it's an attitude that keeps your work in proper perspective.

A problem with most new businesspeople, and some long-time ones as well, is that their attitude toward themselves, instead of toward their products or services, needs to become much more positive and broader in nature.

What are your attitudes about yourself? Are you a positive-thinking person? Are you cheerful,
optimistic, proud without being overbearing, humble without being submissive? Or, are your
attitudes negative, defeatist, pessimistic?

KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SELLING

I adopted this article from my subscription to Neil W. McPherron newsletter : How to Market Yourself neilazia@aol.com

Just as the paperboy on my block has to sell himself to me, so must I sell myself to him. Good-deliver insurance I call it. I'll be the nicest customer on his route for sure, if I pay promptly when he collects, if I show him that I appreciate his service - a dry paper on rainy or snowy days, and placed on my porch within easy reach of the front door.

IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOURSELF SUCCESSFULLY MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO SELL

Day after day people are making an effort to sell themselves, and too many are failing because they're selling what they are not instead of what they are.

In yesterday's letter I told you about Paul Barton who I have become acquainted with recently.
His approach is somewhat different than mine but is no less effective. Paul is a marketing and sales consultant and a former director of corporate advertising programs at IBM.

I think I owe it to you, my valued subscriber to make you aware of Paul and his work. And, by
the same token you owe it to yourself to check out his material.

His books, available as ebooks, include:

HOW TO MAKE CONVERSATION, which is devoted to helping you sell yourself with conversation and small talk. (I have reviewed this book and it reminds me of Dale Carnegie's book - How To Win Friends and Influence People - which I read nearly 50 years ago.

HOW TO BUILD RAPPORT AND RELATIONSHIPS - this book is a FREE bonus to my subscribers when you purchase any one of his books.

FROM HEAD TO SOUL FOR MEN AND FROM HEAD TO SOUL FOR WOMEN - bother which give you detailed *how-to* information on present the best image of you.

HOT TO MAKE PEOPLE WANT!! TO BUY FROM YOU - a book that tells you everything you need to know about personal selling.

You owe it to yourself to check out what Paul has to offer at: http://tinyurl.com/yhob-4n

BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE AND COURAGE

There is no such thing as NO CONFIDENCE. Everyone has confidence in something.

If you are depressed and admit it, it shows that you have a certain measure of confidence in your
depression. Your confidence will never fail you. What can fail you are those things in which you place
your confidence.

In selling yourself successfully, absolute confidence in yourself is a must, plus a confidence that you will
not fail in the sale. Confidence in turn breeds courage. This being true, we must make sure that our self-
confidence goes to work for us because, in selling ourselves we are putting our confidence in ourselves.

We had better do so, because if we haven't got confidence in ourselves, how in the world can we
expect anyone else to have confidence in us.

FIVE RULES FOR GETTING RID OF FEAR

Most of the things we talk about in this newsletter apply to bricks

In order to conquer fear you need to -

DO THESE THINGS NOW

* Believe in yourself. Put cards up in your home, you car,
your office, your shop, your computer, with the words
I BELIEVE IN MYSELF.
* Repeat those words ten times each day.
* Refuse to listen to the whisperings of fear - turn up
the volume on the whisperings of faith.
*Associate with confident people from now on.
Borrow confidence from others.
* Tune up your confidence machine. You'll get more
courage to the gallon when you put in the additive of faith,
those whisperings that come in your right ear.
* Keep busy. Self-doubts can't live with busy people.
* Every morning, on rising, say, I AM THE CAPTAIN OF MY SHIP.
Act like it the rest of the day.
* No matter what happens each day to raise your fears,
do that thing you fear to do.
* Act as if you can't fail - and you won't.

More on the subject of developing a positive attitude next time.

The Most Powerful Words in the World

The late Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said in a sermon once
"I want to tell you about the two most powerful words in
the world. The first has only five letters, but it has the
strength to move mountains. That word is called faith.
F A I T H. Faith in yourself, faith in others, faith in your
abilities, faith in today, faith in your future. If you don't
have it, who will have it in you?

Then he spoke of the second of the two most powerful
words in the world. So powerful that, if you let it, it can
wipe out faith. "That word," he said in tones that showed
his contempt for it, "is a four-letter word call fear.
F E A R. Fear that you can't be or do something, fear
of the past and its consequences, fear of tomorrow for
what tomorrow might bring, fear that you might fail."

Fear and Faith. Failure and success.

Fear = Failure

Faith = Success

One of the best ways to build faith and confidence
in yourself is to accept it from others. We all need
a special person, wife, husband, or friend to stand
behind us and cheer us on and encourage us.

Fear and Faith

Fear whispering at one side: you can't do this . . .
you won't succeed in marketing yourself . . .
it's too big a job . . . you haven't hot the guts . . .

Faith whispering on the other side: You can do
anything if you think you can . . . you have more
courage than you know . . . people will respect
you and have confidence in you because you are
worthy of respect and confidence. . .

There are two "people" walking around in each
suit of clothes, each dress. The MIND and the BODY.
The part of the mind that you might call the captain
of your ship is about the size of an eraser. Yet, small
as it is, when mind is exercised over matter, powerful
changes can occur. Unfortunately, only about 5 percent
of the people let themselves be controlled by their minds,
The other 95 percent are controlled by their bodies. In the
same way, too few of us are guided by FAITH, while too
many of us are led by FEAR.

The mind says, "Go ahead, be confident, you can do it,
do it now." That's faith speaking, the first of the two
most powerful words in the world.

The body says, "Hold back, you might fail, you can't do it,
do it later." That's fear in your ear.

In building confidence in yourself there is no such thing
as "do it later."

Today decides what you're going to be tomorrow. Today
is what counts, Put out of your mind the fears, weaknesses
and confidence-destroying thoughts of a week ago, a
month ago, a year ago. Today is the day you must decide
you'll let that eraser-sized portion of your mind - faith -
control your body. Today is the day you banish fear forever.
But, you ask how?

We'll cover that question next time with Five Rules to Get Rid of Fear.

Leadership Power Tip 9: Seek Feedback

A common mistake that people in leadership positions make is not to seek feedback. They often receive unsolicited positive feedback about what they are doing – “Great meeting”, “Awesome progress on the project,” “Nice win of that new client”. We get caught up in the day to day events and do not always take the time to step back, reflect or spontaneously ask for feedback. Seeking feedback from employees, colleagues, managers or partners is not always easy. Sometimes you hear comments that present an entirely different perspective than you had expected.

If you are a manager, you may well be giving feedback to your people regularly. And by feedback, I mean both the positive and the negative kind. When you tell your workers that they are doing something right, it boosts their confidence and encourages them to keep doing that right. And when you tell them what they are doing wrong, they understand the error of their ways and can then take corrective action. Imagine the situation where an employee did not get timely feedback about something they were doing wrong or ineffectively. The result is time lost, less productivity and even mistakes, which essentially could be costly. As managers move up in the management ranks, there is an expectation that the executive should already be in the “know”. An ineffective course of action, misunderstood direction, and mistakes – all can happen to management leaders as well. While you, as the manager can give feedback to your workers without their asking for it, leaders typically will not get any feedback from others unless you seek it out.

By seeking feedback, leaders can get an honest opinion about their leadership effectiveness, which will then enable them to enhance their leadership even more. The feedback that you receive from others presents you with the insights into your leadership and the direction which your organization is moving towards. With these facts at hand, you can then make better decisions and are a more powerful leader. Jim Collins writes in his book Good to Great, “You absolutely cannot make a series of good decisions without first confronting the brutal facts.”

When you do ask for feedback from others, you should be open to any comments. In fact, it is the feedback on how you can improve or do something different that will help to enhance your leadership and take it to the next level. Seeking and receiving negative feedback, can be easier said than done. It is human nature to want to disregard or get angry at criticism of their behavior or their plans. But it is honest criticism that helps you to see which then gives you the information that you need to better yourself as a leader.

When you do receive negative feedback, it is important to know how to handle it. If you simply blow your top and act rude, this will only go to dissuade people from giving you an honest opinion after that. However, if you take the criticism under consideration and calmly analyze it, you may just choose to change your leadership approach, philosophy, or behavior accordingly.

In order to gain from any feedback, you should actively listen to what the other person is saying and then ask questions if anything is not completely clear. You should encourage suggestions from other people about what they think you should do or continue to do.

And one last thing that you simply have to do - thank the person for offering their feedback and suggestions, regardless of the nature of the opinion or whether you accepted the advice or not. Tell them that you are grateful for the opportunity to learn from them. This shows the other person that you are capable of being objective and a thorough professional, even in the face of criticism. The example a leader provides in seeking feedback openly is very powerful and the domino affect of modeling this kind of interactive communication can have a very positive effect on your organization. Seek Feedback and Unleash Your Leadership Power!

Leadership Power Tips

Have you noticed a difference in your listening habits? Are you ensuring that the intention of the message is clearly understood?
All these leadership practices take time to develop. Be patient with yourself, yet keep moving forward.

Today's tip is a great follow up to the last one. I want to talk about being grateful. At times, we are moving so fast and doing so many tasks that we forget how far we have come, all those we have influenced and all that we have accomplished. It is really important to acknowledge yourself and those around you - to be grateful for all we have.

I keep a journal. I carry it with me everyday. Having this journal with me, allows me the opportunity to capture what I am grateful for. When I am waiting for someone at lunch or when I am on hold for a call, I sometimes take that brief moment to write down what I am grateful for. Usually 2-3 times a week, I will open my journal and write down my thoughts for the day or the week. Here is a link which gives you an example of what I have written at the end of one day: http://www.leadershippowertips.com/BeGrateful.htm

It is awesome what comes to mind during this quiet and thoughtful time. I often find that someone has contributed to me in a powerful way and it affords me the chance to capture my thoughts so I then can share my appreciation with them the next day.

This process of writing what I am grateful for relieves any overwhelm or anxiety I may be feeling. I make a focused effort to be grateful especially when those feelings come up because it then allows me to get back on track, be grounded again.

Leadership Power Tip 7

We have covered a lot of ground with the Leadership Power Tips so far:

Seize An Opportunity
Know Your Values
Create Your Vision
Set Goals, Make Deadlines, Deliver Results and Celebrate
Learn, Share, Learn
Engage Others, be part of a team

Today I want to talk about Communication and its key component - Listening. My leadership effectiveness grew tremendously when I enhanced my listening skills. I learned that when I speak, I must be clear about "how my communication landed over there." What that means is has the person you are speaking to really understood the meaning or intention of your message. When you take the time to ensure that this level of clarity is actually happening, then your effectiveness grows tremendously.

Not only does this level of clarity hold true for when you are speaking but also for when you are listening to someone else. Take the time to ensure that you are receiving the message being presented with their intention - not yours. Take time to ask questions that clarify for you and the one you are communicating with that you both are on the same page of understanding.

MARKETING YOURSELF TO OTHERS

Nothing is ever sold without a buyer, not even you.
So, put yourself in a buyer's shoes for a moment
and ask yourself, "would anyone want to buy me?"

In order to sell yourself successfully to other you
Must make yourself into a most-wanted package.
You are trying to get people to do something your
way, or see something as you see it. You want them
to change their viewpoints, to make them like or
love you.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A SALEABLE PACKAGE

You can't be an unknown quantity and sell yourself.
Millions of dollars have been spent by manufacturers,
advertising agencies, market research people and
retailers to decide just how to package a product
to make it more saleable.

The contents are what you are inside. The person-
ality that shines through your eyes, the smile on
your face, the words that express your thoughts
and ideas, your readiness to listen, your enthusiasm,
your attitudes and outlook.

The wrapping is your outward appearance: your
cleanliness, your grooming, your complexion, your
weight, the clothes you wear and the way you
wear them, the posture you assume, the shoes
you walk in.

The emphasis of your message about marketing
yourself is on the inner contents of your package
and how to develop them to such a fine point that
putting yourself over becomes ever easier. For
now, however, let's consider some things about
your wrapping. After all, that's the first thing others
see. The sale of yourself begins there. It can be
won or lost because of the wrapping.

How often have you received a package that has been
carelessly handled in shipment? The package has
been dropped perhaps, or it is soiled, the paper may
be torn and the twine loosened. The moment you
received such a package you probably started to
worry about the condition of the contents.

It's the same with people. Our exterior image must
reflect positively the qualities we wish to sell to others.
If the outside wrapping caused others to worry about
us and what we are, we can begin to say good-bye to
the sale.

HOW TO SELL YOURSELF & YOUR BUSINESS

When last we talked we were discussing the concept of selling yourself and what you need
to do in order to do that. This time we will start with - -

EIGHT RULES FOR BODY CARE

1- SHOWER OR BATHE DAILY.
You'll look better and you'll feel better. Use a cologne but make sure it isn't overpowering.

2- TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR.
Shampoo it regularly. Don't date yourself, style it in the current fashion. Keep it well combed and
brushed. Never allow dandruff to mar your appearance.

3. USE MAKEUP SPARINGLY
if you're a woman. Apply it carefully to emphasize your best features. "War paint" is out. Your desire is to influence, not conquer.

4- SHAVE AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY
if you're a man - twice a day if you must. There is no excuse for a "five-o'clock shadow." It does not make you look macho, it only make you look unshaven. Keep an extra razor or electric shaver at your office or shop. Use a good after-shave.

5- MANICURE YOUR NAILS REGULARLY
if you're a woman. Choose a nail polish that compliments your hands, not one that calls undue attention to them. Black or flaming red are headlights.

6- KEEP NAILS CLEAN AND TRIMMED
if you're a Man. A manicure is a matter of personal choice, Watch out for nicotine stains. (That does double for women.)

7- KEEP PHYSICALLY TRIM.
Get those extra pounds off if you need to. (It can be done) Start an exercise program now.

8- CHECK YOUR POSTURE.
Stand tall, walk tall. Hold yourself erect, shoulders back, belly in. You are number one. Number-one people never slouch, standing or seated.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now that should keep you busy until we talk next. As for me working on number seven is my what I need to do most importantly. Unfortunately I have let myself get too heavy over the last few years.

Clothing - Fashion

Remember, WHAT you wear is an indication to many people of what you are. *Clothes make
the man* is a phrase that carries a great deal of truth. WHEN and WHERE you were them are
also decisive factors. An evening dress and furs are beautiful when worn by a woman to a
restaurant or a theater; they are ridiculous at a morning business meeting. Farfetched?
Not at all, it does happen.

I've heard of a guidance counselor, a practicing psychologist, who, when at work, is the most
conservative of dressers. He has to be, in order to inspire confidence in his counsel.

However, at night, when partying, he changes his entire personality and image by wearing casual
jeans or leather, a necklace and zodiac pendant, and even a small gold earring in his left ear. It does not bother him at all to be mistaken sometimes for a member of the gay community, which he is not. But, can you imagine what the effect would be if he dressed on the job as he does during his leisure hours? His counsel would most likely go unheeded.

There is nothing so fleeting as fashion. One year it is wide lapels and wide neckties, the next year it's back to narrow ties. Single-breasted suits or double-breasted - it's your choice. Vests? They can be matching or contrasted.

Hemlines? They move up and down like elevators.

In short, style is always a matter of personal taste and preference.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
More on the rules concerning clothing next time. Until then.

EIGHT RULES CONCERNING CLOTHING

1-BUY THE BEST CLOTHING YOU CAN AFFORD.
Don't stint. Quality tells and quality clothing will look better on you and wear longer. Make sure
that what you buy - suits, dresses, shirts, blouses, shoes - fit you well.

2-BUILD A COMPLETE WARDROBE.
Choose clothing for business, for work, for evening wear, for travel and leisure. Be selective. Often items can do double duty. Mix and match may be the perfect answer for you.

3-DRESS FOR THE OCCASION.
Always wear clothing suitable for the situation. You would not call on a bank president in blue jeans, nor would you wear a three-piece pinstripe worsted to play a game of touch football.

4-HANG YOU CLOTHING PROPERLY.
Care in hanging suits, dresses, sweaters and slacks will assure their keeping their shape. Treat
what you buy with respect.

5-HAVE YOUR CLOTHING CLEANED AND PRESSED REGULARLY.
Stains, spots and wrinkles will do nothing for you when it comes to marketing yourself, but they sure can work against you. Proper cleaning, too, will help them wear better and last longer.

6-CHOOSE ACCESSORIES THAT COMPLIMENT, NOT DISTRACT.
Loud neckties on a man are a distraction. So are large dangling earrings on a woman. So are oversized belt buckles and over- loaded charm bracelets. A shirt with stripes and a suit with plaid might simply make one dizzy.

7-MATCH YOUR SHOES TO YOUR WARDROBE.
Keep them to basic browns and blacks, and choose separate footwear for business, for dress-up occasions, for leisure and for sports.

8-TAKE CARE OF YOUR FOOTWEAR.
Shoes trees will help them keep their shape. Keep shoes well shined, watch for scuffs and don't
let the heels wear down.

In short, do everything you can to make yourself the most buyable package possible. As a final test ask yourself this question:

WOULD I BUY ME?

How Not to Get Hooked by a ‘Phishing’ Scam

“We suspect an unauthorized transaction on your account.
To ensure that your account is not compromised, please click the link below and confirm your identity.”

“During our regular verification of accounts, we couldn’t verify your information. Please click here to update and verify your information.”

Have you received email with a similar message? It’s a scam called “phishing” — and it involves Internet fraudsters who send spam or pop-up messages to lure personal information (credit card numbers, bank account information, identity card number, passwords or other sensitive information) from unsuspecting victims.

According to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Americans’ consumer protection agency, phishers send an email or pop-up message that claims to be from a business or organization that you may deal with – for example, an Internet Service Provider (ISP), bank, online payment service, or even a government agency. The message may ask you to “update”, “validate”, or “confirm” your account information. Some phishing emails threaten a dire consequence if you don’t respond. The messages direct you to a website that looks just like a legitimate organisation’s site. But it is not so. It is a bogus site whose sole purpose is to trick you into divulging your personal information so the operators can steal your identity and run up bills or commit crimes in your name.

The US FTC suggest these tips to help you avoid getting hooked by a phishing scam:

1. If you get an email or pop-up messages that asks for personal or financial information, do not reply and don’t click on the link in the message either.
Legitimate companies don’t ask for this information via email. If you are concerned about your account, contact the organisation mentioned in the email using a telephone number you know to be genuine, or open a new Internet browser session and type in the company’s correct web address yourself. In any case, don’t cut and paste the link from the message into your Internet browser- phishers can make links look like they go to one place, but actually send you to a different site. Do check the web address even if you clicked on the link given in the message as they usually are different from the actual web address.

2. Area codes can mislead.
Some scammers send an email that appears to be from a legitimate business and ask you to call a phone number to update your account or access a “refund”. Since they use Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, the are code you call does not reflect where the scammers really are. If you need to reach an organisation that you do business with, call the number on your financial statements or on the back of your credit card. In any case, delete any random emails that ask you to confirm or divulge your financial information.

3. Use anti-virus and anti-spyware software as well as a firewall and update them all regularly.

Some phishing emails contain software that can harm your computer or track your activities on the Internet without your knowledge.

Anti-virus software and a firewall can protect your from inadvertently accepting such unwanted files. Anti-virus software scans incoming communications for troublesome files. Look for anti-virus software that recognise current viruses as well as older ones; that can effectively reverses the damage and that updates automatically.

A firewall helps make you invisible on the Internet and blocks all communications from unauthorised sources. It is especially important to run a firewall if you have a broadband connection. Operating systems like Windows or Linux or browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape may also offer free software “patches” to close holes in the system that hackers or phishers could exploit.

4. Don’t email personal or financial information.

Email is not a secure way of transmitting personal information. If you initiate a transaction and want to provide your personal or financial information through an organisation’s website, look for an indicator that the site is secure like a lock icon on the browser’s status bar or a URL for a website that begins with “https:” (the “s” stands for secure). Unfortunately, no indicator is foolproof as some phishers have forged security icons.

5. Review credit card and bank account statements as soon as you receive them to check for unauthorised charges. If your statements is late by more than a couple of days, call your credit card company or bank to confirm your billing address and account balances.

6. Be cautious about opening any attachments or downloading any files from emails you receive, regardless of who sent them. These files contain viruses or other software that can weaken your computer’s security.

7. Forward spam that is phishing for information to mycert@mycert.org.my and to the company, bank or organisation impersonated in the phishing email. Most organisations have information on their websites about where to report problems.

8. If you believe you’ve been scammed, file your complaint at MyCert, NISER and Royal Malaysian Police, Commercial Crime Department. While you cannot entirely control whether you will become a victim of identity theft, you can take some steps to minimize your risk.

For more information on ways to avoid email scams and deal with deceptive spasm, you can go to this site : http://www.ftc.gov/spam.

An Explanation

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST EXPLANATIONS.

BEST EXPLANATIONS OF WHY ALLAH ALLOWS PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT I
HAVE SEEN:

A MAN WENT TO A BARBERSHOP TO HAVE HIS HAIR CUT AND HIS BEARD
TRIMMED. AS THE BARBER BEGAN TO WORK, THEY BEGAN TO HAVE A GOOD
CONVERSATION.

THEY TALKED ABOUT SO MANY THINGS AND VARIOUS SUBJECTS. WHEN THEY
EVENTUALLY TOUCHED ON THE SUBJECT OF ALLAH, THE BARBER SAID: "I
DON'T BELIEVE THAT ALLAH EXISTS."

"WHY DO YOU SAY THAT?" ASKED THE CUSTOMER.

"WELL, YOU JUST HAVE TO GO OUT IN THE STREET TO REALIZE THAT ALLAH
DOESN'T EXIST. TELL ME, IF ALLAH EXISTS, WOULD THERE BE SO MANY
SICK PEOPLE? WOULD THERE BE ABANDONED CHILDREN? IF ALLAH EXISTED, THERE
WOULD BE NEITHER SUFFERING NOR PAIN. I CAN'T IMAGINE A LOVING ALLAH WHO
WOULD ALLOW ALL OF THESE THINGS."

THE CUSTOMER THOUGHT FOR A MOMENT, BUT DIDN'T RESPOND BECAUSE HE
DIDN'T WANT TO START AN ARGUMENT. THE BARBER FINISHED HIS JOB AND THE
CUSTOMER LEFT THE SHOP. JUST AFTER HE LEFT THE BARBER SHOP, HE SAW A MAN IN THE STREET WITH LONG, STRINGY, DIRTY HAIR AND AN UNTRIMMED BEARD.

HE LOOKED DIRTY AND UNKEMPT. THE CUSTOMER TURNED BACK AND ENTERED
THE BARBER SHOP AGAIN AND HE SAID TO THE BARBER:

"YOU KNOW WHAT? BARBERS DO NOT EXIST."

"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?" ASKED THE SURPRISED BARBER. "I AM HERE,
AND I AM A BARBER. AND I JUST WORKED ON YOU!"

"NO!" THE CUSTOMER EXCLAIMED. "BARBERS DON'T EXIST BECAUSE IF THEY
DID, THERE WOULD BE NO PEOPLE WITH DIRTY LONG HAIR AND UNTRIMMED
BEARDS, LIKE THAT MAN OUTSIDE." "AH, BUT BARBERS DO EXIST! THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE DO NOT COME TO ME." "EXACTLY"

AFFIRMED THE CUSTOMER. "THAT'S THE POINT! ALLAH, TOO, DOES EXIST!
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE DO NOT GO TO HIM AND DON'T LOOK TO
HIM FOR HELP. THAT'S WHY THERE'S SO MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERING IN THE
WORLD."

IF YOU THINK ALLAH EXISTS, SEND THIS TO OTHER PEOPLE. IF YOU THINK
ALLAH DOES NOT EXIST, DELETE.

Start an Idea File

In copywriting we call it a "swipe file."

When you see a newspaper or magazine ad or receive advertisements of any kind in the mail that apply to your business or appeal to you then "swipe" the idea and put it in a file.

This also applies to any kind of promotion. Radio, television, signs - - anything that grabs your attention should be filed away. You should add to your "swipe file" or idea file all the time. Eventually this file will become a very, very valuable part of your marketing.

In future issues we will discuss how to use your idea file to its fullest.

YOUR MOST POWERFUL AND LEAST EXPENSIVE MARKETING TOOL

If you are a very small or home-based business you need to be taking advantage of a marketing tool you already possess.

Your mouth!

Talk is cheap, so why not use it to help market your business?

Too many small, start-up businesses and home-based businesses get so involved in their own little world it is like become a "cave dweller."

Don't be a business owner who passes up on talk marketing opportunities.

A talk marketing opportunity is a chance to engage potential customers, be engaging, and ultimately to "marry" these prospects, turning them into customers or clients.

Here are some ways you can use to market yourself and enlarge your network:

1. Get out of your office or store every day.

To be successful practitioner of talk marketing, you must be a visible member of your community. And, that means getting out. Get away from the business for a little while. Attend meeting and have business lunches or dinners, with old as well as new contacts.

2. Say hello to everybody you meet.

This gives you a chance to ask people what they do for a living and then in turn you can tell them what you do and give them your business card. When you are in a coffee shop, at the post office or wherever, say, "Hello" and introduce yourself. And in general, engage people.

3. Read local newspapers and periodicals.

This is an ideal way to be 'lugged into' activities in your community and to avoid the isolation of your home or other business location.

Read all the local newspapers every day and as many periodicals dealing with your community as possible. This is a way to find out where people with similar interests are hanging out.

In addition, every time you read the paper you will see stories of a person receiving a promotion or a ground breaking or some other milestone which then gives you the opportunity to send these people a simple handwritten note of congratulations.

If you continue to send thank you notes and congratulations to people throughout your career you will be a big winner!

4. Be a joiner.

You should join at least three organizations from the following list:

- a business group -

Join your local chamber of commerce, and/or the Rotary or Kiwanis Club because there are other business owners there.

- an ongoing, weekly network -

Networking with a group that meets regularly can be one of the best sources for getting business. Groups of this type meet generally for breakfast and are composed of one representative of each type of business. The sole purpose of the group is to provide each other with information and leads to possible business.

- a specialty organization -

If you work in computers, join a computer group. If you're a woman, join a woman's group. This get you out of your business and keeps you informed of business trends in your specialty.

- join a family-type organization -

Join a church, the PTA, or similar family-oriented group to stay in touch with the social and spiritual life of your community.

5. Develop a volunteer mentality.

It's not enough to join, you must also contribute. Relationships . . including the relationship between a community and a business . . don't work unless both parties are giving.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET, YOU HAVE TO GIVE

6. Invest in a skills-development program.

Take a course, read a book, invest in a tape. There are man fine sales trainers who sell tapes and books. "Toastmaster" or "Dale Carnegie" courses can help you become a better verbal communicator.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now until next time, study over what we have just talked about and put these ideas into action.

Leadership Power Tip : Learn, Share, Learn

Embracing self development and professional education with renewed interest fueled my leadership growth. I became a voracious reader. I listened to motivational tapes whenever I was driving. I filled notebooks with ideas, journaling and observations. I sought out recommendations on my areas of interest from others.

One basic thing l realized early in my management years is that I could learn a lot from my peers and employees. It is impossible for any one person to know everything that there is to know about their business, their customers, their competitors and their chosen field. And I am no different. When you take the time to learn from your peers and employees, you take advantage their areas of expertise. Be open to learning from others.

Author Stephen Covey, who in his book, The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness, writes “The best way to get people to learn is to turn them into teachers... When you teach you simply learn better. Every student becomes a teacher, and teacher a student.” Sharing your knowledge with others as well as learning from them will enhance your own leadership power. You also get the pleasure of watching others grow, which is what a true leader is all about.

One of my favorite modes of learning is attending conferences or workshops. I love conferences because these events focus your attention on a particular subject. You also have the chance to meet other people with the same interest. It is amazing how much information I walk away with not only from the leader of the workshop and materials presented but also from the conversations that happen during the breaks and the evening networking. Sharing information opens up the opportunity for you to learn something new.

As I continue my learning as an Entrepreneur, I am actively engaged in broadening my experiences, applying my knowledge in new ways and meeting many new experts beyond those I had in Corporate America. There are many areas of learning for me that at times make me uncomfortable. Now I am learning and experimenting with how best to spend my marketing dollars. Spending a greater percentage of my revenues, trying new modes of marketing – internet and direct mail, and relying on what my new marketing experts tell me works is a whole new world of learning. My own learning curve continues to curve up. I love it. To me it means that a whole new world of opportunity is opening up. And I know I am learning more and will have the opportunity to share my learnings with others.

As you may recall one of my leadership values is Sharing Knowledge Creating Power in Others. My request of you is to learn something new this week. Take a Teleseminar, read a book, meet with an expert. Learn, Share, Learn and Unleash Your Leadership Power.

Marketing yourself and business - Unique Selling Proposition (USP)

Recently, I received an email from a businessman thanking me for the valuable information that is available in my newsletter. It is great to hear from folks who are getting something of value from my efforts.

When we talked last I was telling you about the importance of the USP - remember? We will start this issue where we left off - - -

Integrate Your USP Into Everything You Do

Once you decide what your best Unique Selling Proposition is, you should integrate it into everything you do, every aspect of your business - - advertising, personal communications, telephone calls, letters.

Maybe you render more service than anybody else; maybe your product has more quality than anybody else; maybe you offer greater value than anyone else; maybe your discounts are greater because your markup are less.

Bottom line, your Unique Selling Proposition is what you should build your entire business around.

Most people try to be everything to everyone, and they can't understand why they don't have any unique advantage, why they can't really take off ahead of the competitors.

The biggest reason is that they've never sat down and said, "What's my Unique Selling Proposition?" Am I going to be expensive, less expensive, render more service, give better value, give a better guarantee, give two when you buy three, three when you buy two?

Why Should Someone Deal With Me?

What you need to do is sit down and say to yourself "why should someone buy from me rather than my competitor?"

Be honest with yourself. Finding the answer to this question will help you identify your Unique Selling Proposition.

You can't build a consistent and effective marketing and selling proposition if you just send messages out and your customers don't know what you're really representing yourself to be in your market that your competitors are not.

I strongly suggest to anyone who is in business and especially to you my friend and subscriber that if you have never sat down and tried to state for yourself what your Unique Selling Proposition is, then you should do it, NOW!

Maybe you'll want to redefine what your Unique Selling Proposition is. We've found that we can go around almost anyone's advantage by countering whatever is in the market.

If everyone was selling the same product for $29, we should sell it for $27, or give them more value, or give them three times the guarantee, or give them something free when they buy it. But, come up with a Unique Selling Proposition, and integrate that into everything you do - - your ads, your salespeople in the field, your salespeople over the counter, and your phone salespeople if people call you. It's very important.

When you know and state your USP, you will stand out from your competition, like "Fred's All Natural Foods" or "John's Exotic Car Rentals" or the "Metric Tool Box."

You can see at times it is possible to have the USP in the name of the business. The philosophy of your USP has to be the bedrock of the company. All company transactions must show it. The USP must be known by all your employees; and by the competition, customers, stockholders and suppliers.

Your USP will describe your niche in the market.

For example, you become aware that you don't rent cars. You Lease Exotic Automobiles.

Or your USP might be that you sell only natural food.

The USP could be that you do indeed sell products at the lowest markup in the industry.

A USP could be that you educate your customers and provide the best service, and that you actually do.

Another USP could be that you have at all times 1,000,000 different parts in stock for cars. Or your USP says that you never close.

For DOMINO'S PIZZA it became known for "30 minutes or It's FREE."

For FEDERAL EXPRESS it's mantra was "If it absolutely has to be there overnight - Federal Express."

Whatever it is, use the USP.

As you develop your USP don't worry that you will have to use the same one as long as you are in business. Your unique selling advantage in 2006 my need to be changed in 2009. Or, whatever it was in 2000 is no longer applicable now and needs to be changed. As the
market changes or you change your USP needs to change, too.

If you learn nothing else today, learn this:

Know and use your Unique Selling Proposition

MENGAPA OH MENGAPA?

Mengapa seseorang Yahudi dibolehkan menyimpan janggut untuk mengamalkan kepercayaannya......tetapi bila seorang Muslim berbuat demikian, dia dianggap ekstrim dan pengganas?

Mengapa seseorang rahib boleh meliputi keseluruhan tubuhnya kerana memperhambakan diri kepada Tuhannya......tetapi bila seseorang Muslimah melakukan begitu, dia ditekan?

Mengapa bila wanita barat menjadi surirumah, dia dihormati kerana dikatakan berkorban untuk keluarganya......tetapi bila wanita Islam berbuat begitu, mereka kata, "dia mesti dibebaskan!"

Mengapa bila seseorang kanak-kanak meminati sesuatu bidang, dia dikatakan punyai bakat...
...tetapi bila seseorang kanak-kanak meminati Islam, dia dikatakan tak berguna?

Timely

This is a very interesting and good article from a friend of mine

Surah Al-Asr (verse 1-3)

Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim....

By (the Token of) TIME (through the ages), Verily Man is in loss, Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

TIME has different meanings to different people and at different TIMES.

For some, they are cashing in on the word TIME as their company’s name or company’s tagline.

For others, they are cashing in on the TIME theme in creating the biggest hit songs, movies and TV shows. Examples are (to name a few): -

1) Songs - Time After Time by Cindy Lauper and Yesterday by The Beatles.
2) Movies - Titanic (a couple met the first TIME on the ship and raced against TIME before the doomed liner sunk) and Nick of TIME (a loving father is threatened of his daughter’s life if he fails to assassinate a senator).
3) TV shows – Without A Trace (an FBI team battles with TIME as they search for missing persons), 24 (each season tells events that unfold within a 24-HOUR period) and Lost (a group of survivors stranded on a deserted island, counting DAYS while they wait to be rescued and remembering the DAYS that took place before their airplane crashed).

For those whose work involve with tight deadlines or those who are running late to catch a flight, they may curse at the TIME for not trying to slow down a little bit.

For those who are bed-ridden with terminal diseases, they are counting the TIMES they have left on earth.

For those who like to loaf at shopping complexes, or frequently visit their neighbours spreading gossips, fail to realise there are people out there who would kill for those precious TIMES they have wasted.

For couples who are madly in love, they treasure their TIMES together, every minute, every second and never want those TIMES to end.

For those who dearly miss their loved ones who are no longer present, whether due to deaths or them being far away or simply missing, TIME can be an instrument of torture and unbearable.

For those who are expecting a child, they eagerly await for the TIME where they can play with those little fingers, hear those ‘little’ laughter and witness those first little steps.

For those whose children have all grown up, they wonder how fast TIME flies, as they feel like it was only yesterday, they saw their children in the playground.

For those who fast during the month of Ramadhan with much humility, they learn to be patient with TIME.

For those who have met their soul mates, they will always reminisce the TIME when they first met.

For those who are late for a date for the 101st TIME, they have a lot of explaining (or begging) to do with their partners.

For those who escape death at the final TIME just before tragedies strike, or those who shoot the winning score just in TIME before the final whistle is blown, they have a lot to be grateful for.

...and finally, when the TIME has come for Mailakatul Maut (Angel of Death) to approach us, we can either have a lot to feel regret about OR have a lot to look forward to. Wallahua’lam.

Story of a Man.....

I was happy. My girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. My parents helped us in every way, my friends encouraged me.

And my girlfriend? She was a dream!

There was only one thing bothering me, very much indeed.

That one thing was her younger sister. My prospective sister-in-law was twenty years of age, a beautiful young lady, very open minded and sexy.

One day little sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived.

She whispered to me that soon I was to be married, and she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome and didn't really want to overcome.

She told me that she wanted to make love to me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. I was in total shock and couldn't say a word. She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want to go ahead with it just come up and get me."

I was stunned. I was frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and went straight to the front door. I opened the door and stepped out of the house and walked straight towards my car.

My future father-in-law was standing outside. With tears in his eyes he hugged me and said, "We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

The moral of this story ???

Keep your condoms in your car, never in your wallet. (He actually went out to get his condom)

"10 AMALAN YANG TERBALIK" ...bukan terbaik.

Islam?

2. Kalau hadir ke kenduri walimatul urus (kenduri kahwin) orang kerap salam
berisi (hadiah wang yang diberi semasa bersalam). Kalau tak ada duit nak dikepit
dalam tangan, maka segan ia nak pergi makan kenduri. Tetapi kalau ia menziarah
orang mati, tidak segan pula salam tak berisi. Sepatutnya kalau menziarah

Bukankah terbalik amalan kita?

dibuat kenduri, bukan kerana nak bermusafir, maka dibuat kenduri. Bukankah
amalan ini terbalik? Atau kita mempunyai tujuan lain.

8. Semua ibubapa amat bimbang kalau-kalau anak mereka gagal dalam periksa. Maka
Kalau guru tuisyen sanggup dibayar
sebulan RM20.00 satu pelajaran 8 kali hadir tapi kepada Tok Guru Quran nak bayar
RM15.00 sebulan 20 kali hadir belajar pun menggeletar tangan. Bukankah terbalik
amalan kita?

9. Kalau bekerja mengejar rezeki Allah tak kira siang malam, pagi petang, mesti
pergi kerja. Hujan atau ribut tetap diharungi kerana hendak mematuhi peraturan
kerja. Tapi ke rumah Allah (masjid) tak hujan, tak panas, tak ribut pun tetap
tak datang ke masjid. Sungguh tak malu manusia begini, rezeki Allah diminta tapi
nak ke rumahNya segan dan malas.

kita.

Sabda Rasullullah SAW: "Sampaikanlah dariku walaupun satu ayat." (Riwayat
Bukhari)

Segala Larangan Dan Suruhan Allah s.w.t
Bersebab...

1. Cara makan, kenapa kita gunakan tangan?

Mengikut cara Rasulullah s.a.w, beliau akan menggaulkan lauk dan nasi dengan tangan kanannya dan kemudian membiarkan sebentar, lalu Rasullah saw akan mengambil sedikit garam menggunakan jari kecilnya(yg last tu), lalu Rasullah saw akan menghisap garam itu. Kemudian barulah Rasulullah makan nasi dan lauknya.

Mengapa?

Mengapa menghisap garam?

Kenapa garam?

Jangan meniup air yg panas, sebabnya sama diatas. Cara minum, seteguk bernafas, seteguk bernafas sehingga habis.

Sekian buat renungan bersama, Fi amanillah Jazakallah.

TOLONG SEBARKAN DAN JADIKAN AMALAN BERGUNA....
